What is hydraulic drum crusher?
Hydraulic drum crusher, also popular as hydraulic drum baler or drum baling machine. It is the kind of baler which can press the metal drums and make them flat for easy disposal or recycling purpose. Why we need to press the drum with hydraulic drum baler first? Why could not for us to get rid of the drums directly? As we all know that, the drums are normally with the volume hundreds of litres, so it is not easy for us to handle such large sized drums directly. If we use the drum crusher to press them first, the height of the drum will be around 10-15 cm. Thus it can save space and make the handling process easier.
What are the drums used for ?
Drums are normally made of metal, paper, plastic, etc. The hydraulic drum baler is machine especially for crushing the metal drums. The metal drums are good solutions for the transportation and storage of liquids and powders. And they are often certified for shipment of dangerous goods. The most common used metal drum is the 55 gallon steel drum. The dimension of the 55 gallon drum is 22.5” (572 mm) diameter and 33.5” (851 mm) height inside and 23” (584 mm) diameter and 34.5” (876 mm) height outside.
How to use the hydraulic drum crusher?
The operation of hydraulic drum baler is quite easy. There are control buttons on the machine, so basically you just need to press the buttons for operating. After you move the drum into the chamber of the machine, please close the door and press the start button. The press plate will go down and press the drum. Then when the machine finish the pressing process, you can open the door and take the flat drum out. If there is something emergency happen, please press the E-stop button and then the machine will stop immediately.
