Steel Chain Conveyor Ground Pit Feeding System for Balers | Installation & Demo
In this video, we will show how a steel chain conveyor with ground pit design is installed, and how it efficiently feeds different materials directly into balers.
First, the ground pit must be prepared according to the conveyor dimensions. A reinforced concrete foundation is constructed to ensure sufficient strength and long-term stability. The pit depth is designed so that the conveyor feeding inlet will be flush with the workshop floor, allowing operators to load materials directly from ground level.
Next comes the conveyor installation. Because the steel chain conveyor is heavy-duty equipment, lifting machinery such as a crane or forklift is required. The conveyor is carefully lifted using certified lifting points and slowly lowered into the prepared ground pit. During this step, installation personnel guide the equipment to prevent collision with pit walls and ensure safe positioning.
Once the conveyor is placed inside the pit, technicians adjust the alignment so that the feeding inlet sits level with the floor surface and the discharge end aligns precisely with the baler feeding opening. Anchor bolts are then tightened to secure the conveyor firmly to the foundation, preventing vibration during operation.
After mechanical positioning, the drive motor, and electrical control system are connected. Power supply and signal connections are checked, and safety devices are verified before startup.
An empty running test is then performed. Operators briefly start the conveyor to confirm correct chain rotation direction, smooth movement, and stable operation. Any abnormal noise or misalignment is corrected before commissioning.
With installation completed, the ground pit feeding system is ready for operation. In the next section, we will demonstrate how different materials such as cardboard, paper, hay, and plastic bottles are efficiently loaded into balers using this automated feeding solution.
